A modern rifle with a green sling and scope, captioned 'Tier 1 Citizen: Run Your Rifle, Not Your Sling.'

Birth of the Tier 1 Citizen Rifle Sling

Tier 1 Citizen Slings started as bungee camera slings. I made the first ones in 2009 while working full-time as a cop, and part-time as an LE/MIL magazine writer running alongside operators to shoot photos. The same bungee design (just swapped to a QD attachment) became the Tier 1 Citizen 1-Point Sling.

Moving to longer, heavier rifles pushed me toward a 2-Point design. But after years of testing market slings cluttered with sliders and release buckles, I learned a hard lesson: anything easily adjusted can be easily unadjusted; usually at the worst moment. So T1C Slings skip sliders and shoulder pads entirely, relying instead on a generous length of sewn-in Bungee (the actual brand, not generic shock cord) for comfort and stability.

Every component is milspec and made in America: Bungee brand cord, Murdock tubular webbing, BCM QD rings, Blue Force Gear HK hooks, Duraflex buckles/tri-glides, and Speedy Stitcher thread.

A sling is to a rifle what a holster is to a handgun. If your sling is not working for you, replace it.
